Currently, the Flint Artists Market isfeatured in the main gallery.
A meet the artist event is being planned to accompany this exhibit
on Friday, October 23rd @ 6:00pm
Catering will be provided by Isola's Bistro,
and live music provided by "Strings 'n' Things" a local dulcimer choir.
Drop-In Registration
Drop-in registration is now available. Its our twist on "curb-side" service.
If you'd like to be a part of a class, simply show up, fill out a registration form and you're in!
Affordability is always an issue these days,
which is why were making it easier for you to be creative.
We Currently Offer Curb-side Service for the following Classes:
Pleine Aire Sunday Painters Classes
Youth Art Saturday Classes
and Various Workshops
For a one-time fee of $20.00 you can be registered and in class that same day!

Art and The Garden Tour 2009
The Lapeer Center for the Arts Council held
their first annual 'Art and the Garden Tour' on Saturday, July 25th.
Over 300 people arrived Saturday morning to tour
six of Metamora's most prestigious properties and grounds.
We would like to thank everyone who participated bolstering our
ELEVATE THE ARTS fund by more than 5,000 dollars!
Thanks also for efforts of over 40 volunteers and sponsor support from
View Newspapers, H&H Tool, McCreedy Farms Lansdcaping & Lawn Care, Citizens First Bank, Kirk Construction, and Lapeer County Bank and Trust.
It looks like we'll have our new elevator Fall 2009!
Comic Show Visits Lapeer!
We are pleased to be the first stop for the Michigan traveling comic show. Originating from Eastern Michigan University curators Richard Rubenfeld and Dave Coverly. The exhibit will feature the original works of about 40 contemporary cartoon artists living and working right here in Michigan! The show will open June 12th and run through July 24th.
EMU Art History Professor Richard Rubenfeld stops by the Gallery on July 18th at 1:00pm to invite us back in time to explore the world of cartoon/comic art.
Artist talk will follow with refreshments provided by Starbucks.

Elevate the Arts!
Construction has begun at the Gallery!
Please pardon our dust as our construction crew makes way for the new elevator lift, located in the southeast stairwell. The main entrance is temporarily closed until construction is completed. Until then, feel free to access the Gallery through the Court Street entrance, located across from the PIX box office.
The Lapeer Center for the Arts Council (LCAC) has begun a fundraising campaign to raise money toward the goal of installing an elevator to provide barrier-free access to Art Classroom space in the lower level of the Gallery building. Currently the basement is sporadically used for art instruction, storage and office space, depending on participants’ ability to negotiate the stairs. “Creating a more inclusive space with an elevator translates to permanent classrooms, studios, meeting and exhibit space along with a way to maneuver heavy equipment up and down without risk of injury,” says Gallery Director Carolyn McCarter.
